There's so much terrific value in the Loire Valley these days even with the ridiculous tarriff situation going on. Moreover, quality has never been higher and even the village level wines can serve up plenty of thrills. Saumur is a village in particular that seems to be overflowing with excellent producers like the Filliatreau family responsible for this lovely Chenin Blanc. This is a classic Saumur Chenin but everything is a little more precise and detailed than what you might expect to find at this price point. When Chenin is made this well it has an almost incomparable freshness and approachability. The quintessential bistro white for your table.
