Tasting Notes
Using their single source organic corn from a farm in the Finger Lakes as their base, the team at Matchbook methodically integrated the fresh peels and pulp of the blood oranges slowly extracting the oils, sugars, aromas and flavors over a multi-week maceration.
Think of this as an Aperol/Campari hybrid with a strong balance of bittersweet fruit, botanicals and spices. Incredibly easy to drink on its own with a splash of soda and a citrus twist or mixed into any number of drinks.

Matchbook Distilling Company didn't open until right after I moved away from Greenport, New York and I hold a slight grudge. I was a stone’s throw from the soon-to-be distillery. The short walk from my old home to taste this apertivo liqueur—made from blood orange eau-de-vie and neutral spirit macerated with blood orange peel and made from organic corn—would have been a daily summer activity. Of course, a bottle of local sparkling would have joined the party. The Everywhere Blood Orange Apertivo’s botanicals, consisting of pink peppercorns, wild cherry bark, and Cloud Forest cardamom gives a craft alternative, attention-to-detail approach to the spritz known round the world. This liqueur is full of blood orange fruit, warm spice, and a pleasant bitterness. It would be a delicious addition to a Boulevardier.
