The older reserves of bonded stock whiskies from this distiller have been some of the most eye-opening American Whiskey releases in the past few years. The Lincoln County Process really allows a level of nuance shine through that can sometimes be lost in whiskies of comparable style with a beautiful fusion of fruit, spice and patisserie notes.

If there is anyone who knows how to source the best barrels of whiskey, it is the folks at Smooth Ambler. This release comes from Tennessee just like the Dickel, with the same high cask strength and overall even more flavor.

The famous bottle with the black label and white font is synonymous with Tennessee production, but you have a choice when it comes to trying the Volunteer State's corn-based whiskies. George Dickel Bottled-in-Bond #3 is a 13-year that was distilled in the spring of 2007 with a mash bill of 84% Corn, 8% Rye, and 8% Barley. Distilled at Cascade Hollow Distillery in Tullahoma, this whiskey of exceptional value shows notes of baked cherries with cinnamon, warm pralines, toasted marshmallow, and roasted almonds. At 100 proof, this whiskey holds up in cocktails.
