Trincadeira, Herdade do Esporão - 2018

Item # 10558 750mL

The Trincadeira grape (known as Tinta Amarela up north in the Douro) is a dark-skinned grape variety native to the country. This is hand-harvested from 45 year old vines planted in a mix of granite, schist and clay soils. Fermented in concrete tanks and then aged a further 6 months before bottling. Unoaked. Herdade do Esporão is a large estate dedicated not only to viticulture but intent on the cultivation of olive trees and cork oak forests. Together they have around 40 grape varieties planted and are among the most innovative, larger estates in the south of the country.
