Ridge needs no introduction to the Zinfandel lovers around the globe, but wine drinkers its easy forget just how well made their wines are. This is a great selection for wine drinkers who want to avoid the excesses of overly rich Zinfandels that are all jammy fruit and little structure. Ripe red and black fruit are all in play (as expected), but there's a healthy dollop Carignane which adds a lighter touch and some Petite Syrah to provide some spice. All in all, a wonderful cuvee from one of California's best.
