This magnificent hillside on the left bank of the Vienne River, located on the edge of the Chinon is an exceptional clay-limestone terroir for Chenin Blanc. The vines were planted between 1994 and 1999. After pressing the fruit, the wine was vinified in 225 liter barrels - one-third of which were new and adding to the unctuous character of this full-bodied white wine.

One of those hidden gems that our wine buyers always seem to turn up: aged Chenin Blanc from a Chinon producer in Touraine. Clos de la Plante is a three-hectare vineyard on the left bank of the Vienne River just outside the Chinon AOC that was planted to Chenin Blanc in the 1990s. This has definitely still got some legs to it. It’s bright and zippy with dried flower and deeply honeyed notes. Such a delight to find this hiding in plain sight!
