Despite the fact that the Baroli of the Castiglione sub-region are known for being stern and age-worthy, the Rocche vineyard, with its sandy soils, yields softer wines with enticing aromatics. Grown with a southeastern exposure, this one spends thirty months in French oak barrels, followed by a year of bottle aging before release. The wine is garnet in color and reminiscent of small red berries and licorice.
