This wine is a classic Languedoc-Roussillon blend. Mourvedre gives color and body, Carignan gives smoothness, Syrah gives spicy notes. The result is a very balanced wine. The nose is packed with plum and blueberry aromas, the palate delivers concentration and flavors of black fruit with a pleasant minerality. Jean Marie Rimbert, the producer of this wine, owns forty diverse parcels of land, each with different soil compositions, which explains this wine's different layers of complexity. Additionally, this wine goes through a very gentle extraction, adding finesse and elegance. Simply delicious!

Mourvèdre

Known as Mataro in California and Monastrell in Spain, Mourvèdre can produce bold, tannic, highly alcoholic red wines. They usually show no shortage of fruit as well, and the best examples keep it all in perfect balance.
