Staff Pick Notes

I’m always looking for wines that punch above their weight (i.e. price) and this is one of them, it drinks like a bottle twice its price. With a greater focus on the estate fruit from the Thomas and Judith Beckmen Vineyard, all the usual cab notes are positively singing with cherry, vanilla, black currant, cigar box, and earth. It gives us a smooth, round and elegant mouth-feel with the perfect amount of acidity from the slightly cooler 2019 vintage, which carries the fruit through to a long and luxurious finish. Approachable and ready to drink now, this wine will age wonderfully over the next 12-15 years. The good folks at Beckmen farm over 150 acres of vines and “view every vintage as another opportunity to grow our legacy as a world-class winery by creating wines that future generations will enjoy”. Excellent Job, Team Beckmen!
