Pinot Noir is the first variety harvested at Mount Eden, an artisanal California winemaker in the business for the pure pleasure of crafting Old World style wines. Fruit on this transparent Pinot is elegant and the new and lightly used french oak do not overpower. It matures 18 months and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Sapid, floral and soft on the palate, the structure of this happily Burgundian wine allows for cellaring... however, most will want to drink it now. The large format is ideal for special occasion dinners featuring duck breast.
