An elegant, sweet Marsala complex with notes of white pepper, green olives and bay leaf. Swathes of caramel act as underpining to green notes and is balanced with a rustic acidity. The finish is quite intense; Very similar to Sherry and a great idea for someone who enjoys fortified wines. Tradiitional Marsala wine is made using a process called in perpetuum, which is similar to the solera system used to produce Sherry. This blend of indigenous Sicilian grapes was aged in large Slavonian oak casks. Curatolo is an older house, creating Marsala since 1875.
