Cavallotto expresses an unrivaled purity, dry, clean and rounded on the palate, aromas of white strawberries and raspberries pervade. The calcareous clay soils of the family's vineyards near Serralunga lend a distinct mineraled streak to the resulting wines. "Pinner" is a contraction of Pinot Nero, the Italian name for Pinot Noir. The name was changed from Langhe Bianco due to DOC label rules. It's a good thing, because if this was called Bianco, it would be even more confusing than it is now. This is a wine that varies quite a bit in color and taste, depending on the warmth of the growing season. For example, while the 2014 was wet and cold, the 2015 was warm and dry. Pair with appetizers or fresh cheese.
