A blend of the rare white grape Menu Pineau alongside Chenin Blanc planted in clay and limestone soils. The average age of the vines is 60 years. This comes from a single parcel of vines from a plot called La Roche. The fruit is co-fermented and aged for a year on the lees in 225L barrels. For many years, this was classified as Touraine but now the appellation is refusing the use of Menu Pineau. Zut alors, indeed.

This delightful blend of Menu Pineau and Chenin Blanc comes to us from the Touraine region of the Loire Valley, and is perfect for the warm days of late spring and summer. The stone fruit flavors of peach and apricot, honey, and a variety of citrus fruits all come together with a touch of white flowers and Jordan almonds. Menu Pineau is lower in acidity than Chenin Blanc, so this wine presents with a medium acidity level. Extremely good with Moroccan pastilla, chicken tagine with green olives and preserved lemons, and a wide variety of cheeses, La Tesnière Blanc would be great for a dinner party or a weeknight meal at home.
