Kiedricher Riesling Trocken, Eva Fricke

Being a champion for female winemakers is easy when the women are as talented as Eva Fricke. She makes a a variety of delicious wines, this one being high on my list. A true Rheingau gem, this wine is full of yellow tree fruit flavors like yellow apple, quince, and Meyer lemon, with bracing acidity and minerality. Though this is a dry wine, (any time you see “trocken” on the label, you know it's a dry wine and not an off dry wine!) it manages to feel rich on the pallet with the ripe fruit and delicate floral notes. Pair this with a lighter pasta dishes, roast chicken, vegetarian fair (avoid acidic tomato based dishes), whitefish,or shellfish. $28.99

They are careful to retain the delightful honeyed, flinty flavors that the best sweet Rieslings have always displayed. Alsace, of...
