Lorcher Riesling "Schlossberg", Eva Fricke - 2021

Item # 29287 750mL

A fuller-bodied Riesling, harmonious, and kissed with classic sweetness. Apricots, lemongrass, and minerals swim in a wine laced with ripe tangerine acidity. A keeper for the cellar, and with a few years it will shed some fat and become quite complex.

Staff Pick Notes

When I tried this wine, the winemaker was there. I felt blessed when listening to how fascinating and challenging producing wine can be and the passion winning over the struggle to bring this wine to life. Riesling, in general, has always been seductive to me, but especially the ones that have this honeyed character and notes of petrol. This Riesling "Schlossberg" is one of them. Eva Fricke, the winemaker, and her wines will linger in my memory, in awe and admiration. I really enjoyed both.

They are careful to retain the delightful honeyed, flinty flavors that the best sweet Rieslings have always displayed. Alsace, of...
