Tasting Notes

An easygoing Muscadet that's pleasurable both on its own or with classic shellfish. The nose mingles floral, herbal, and citrus components and gives way to an ample palate of honey, grapefruit, and oyster shells. This wine comes from Melon de Bourgogne, grown on Gabbro soils and stones. Gabbro is a unique igneous-based rock, which produces rich wines in the region with floral tones.

Muscadet deserves a permanent place in your home cellar or fridge. This versatile wine from the Melon de Bourgogne grape is grown in the region where the Loire River flows out and meets the Atlantic ocean. The "Selection" from Domaine des Cognettes is a killer wine for weeknight drinking. With a flavor profile that splits the difference between Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc you'll find a wealth of mineral tones, green and white fruits and delicate floral notes. This would be phenomenal with a lobster salad with citrus, a monkfish filet with a butter-herb sauce, or with a dozen freshly shucked oysters.

Melon de Bourgogne


The coolest (temperature-wise) of the Loire Valley appellations, this region is most famous for its bracingly dry, seafood-friendly whites. Made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape (virtually unheard of in the rest of the world), these refreshing wines are idyllic partners for oysters or mussels.


There’s a lot to remember when it comes to the Loire.
