Classic Cannubi which is a vineyard site in the municipality of Barolo. The soils are filled with clay, fossils, chalk and loam and are located at an elevation of 250 m. The fruit was de-stemmed and then fermented with indigenous yeasts. A full-bodied red wine that you can age for a solid decade or two. Pair with roasted or braised meats.

I will bring this Barolo as a showstopper for upcoming days of celebrations this fall with friends and family. There is so much to love about this wine. I will start off by saying that this was the last year bottled before this 50-year-old vine plot was torn up to plant new vines. This means you have a a very consistent style and flavor produced at a high level of quality. Only downside is the amount of grapes yielded per hectare so after time it only makes sense to renew vineyard sites. This is a 10-year-old, structured, Nebbiolo with notes of cherry, delicate spice, blackberries, a slight amount of licorice, subtle floral hints of rose, and a dash of cocoa powder. The texture on the palate is divine, medium to full. There is no fining or filtering of this wine so please decant as aged wines naturally have slight particulate matter.
