Staff Pick Notes

Melon de Bourgogne, the famous grape of Muscadet, has found its way to the Willamette Valley! Sourced entirely from Johan Vineyard, a Biodynamic vineyard located within the Van Duzer Corridor AVA, Bow and Arrow’s Melon defies norms while creating pure deliciousness and refreshment. Johan Vineyard has a large concentration of granite in its soil, which Melon has a particular affinity for, and there exists a unique oceanic wind funnel that provides a cooling effect every afternoon. It is the only vineyard in the Willamette Valley with both granitic soils and Melon plantings! Winemaker Scott Frank gains inspiration from the Loire Valley, with the focus of his wines built around fresh fruit and pure aromatics. Limes, pears, and brininess all come together to enliven your senses!

In the best of them, the perfect amounts of wind, rain, sun exposure, and altitude combine to give Pinot Noir the warm days and cool nights it needs in order to thrive. Combine that with good drainage and poor soils, and you’ve got the perfect environment...
