Staff Pick Notes

Looking for a good Bordeaux wine can be hard sometimes, even for people who know about wines. There are more than 10,000 producers in that region and most people are intimidated by Bordeaux's reputation for fine, sophisticated, and expensive wines. This is not the case. Châteaux de Cranne Bordeaux Rouge is approachable and exquisite in the whole sense of the word. Well-balanced, well-structured, and rich with soft, fresh black fruit and soft integrated tannins, this wine has aromas and flavors of blackberry, blueberry, dark plum, black cherry, licorice, and cedar, with a persistent finish. Merlot is the dominant grape and there is a little bit of Cabernet Sauvignon in a supporting role, adding a little complexity to this great wine. This is a magnificent steak wine. Enjoy!

For white Bordeaux, only three varieties are permitted:...

It is the principal grape of Bordeaux, and as such has rightly earned its place among the greatest and most long-lived wines of the Old World; of course, it is also the most heralded grape of California,...
