Prosecco is made from the Glera grape variety and is made by an old technique known as the Martinotti method whereby the secondary fermentation takes place in steel tanks. This is made by Alessandro Furlan whose venture in the land of Prosecco has taken him far. Enjoy with starters.
We originally got this one in as a replacement for our standy Scu Do, but I really like this one. It's bright and fresh and very clean on the palate. Just like Scu Do, this is your perfect choice for parties with a big guest list and a small budget (whenever that may be safe again). It’s also tremendous in any spritz, bellini, or mimosa, letting the other ingredients shine and playing a perfect supporting role providing bubble, freshness, and lift. While Scu Do is out of stock, do not hesitate to get on the Cuvée Beatrice wagon
Until recently, "Prosecco" could refer either to a wine or to a white grape. In 2009, however, the grape was renamed "Glera" in a bid to protect Prosecco's good name. Prosecco is usually a sparkling wine made by the Charmat method, though still versions do exist. Because it is so easy to drink, with or without food, Prosecco is a hugely popular choice for parties.
