Staff Pick Notes

What's not to love about a red wine like this? It is fresh and fruit forward with a dash of herbal, old world complexity. Just the qualities everyone wants year round. The cherry on top is that this is also light bodied, low ABV, and low tannin so the pairing options with food are pretty wide. Sour, spicy, and savory flavors will all work. Luis Pato is known for his playful sense of humor, and this translates expertly into his wines. Rebel is made with Baga from the Beira region of northern Portugal. This particular grape has always been tricky for me to pin down. There is such a range of styles, but one common thread is that this grape makes consistently great wines. Don't fret if you're looking for something reasonably affordable that's good quality. This wine has that covered, and its easy going attitude is a breath of fresh air.
