Tasting Notes
Eduardo Torres Acosta, a young winemaker from the Canary Islands, first began working with vines in Tenerife on his father's small parcel. In 2012 Eduardo moved to Sicily, where he apprenticed with Arianna Occhipinti and then later worked at the Passopisciaro winery. He now rents some fine parcels on Mt. Etna and vinifies in a more natural fashion however this vintage is pure, all-around.
Eduardo vinifies this wine at Arianna Occhipinti's winery and therefore he cannot designate this as being from Mount Etna legally. The great news is we can.

Staff Pick Notes
I read about Eduardo Torres when I had first sipped on his Nerello Mascalese on a cold autumn day two years ago. I remember the prickliness of the juice, confidently exposing its natural state. The electricity of the deep brambly fruit, the slightly rough corners that blanket the palate, the balance, the depth that could only come from the soil.
Sicilian wines are rad. This bottle in particular is truly remarkable. Natural and velvet-like on the palate with intricate subtleties and finesse that don't get lost in the shuffle.
Clad with an almost audible glow that radiates its earth-packed beauty. Crispy air-puffed red citrus, poppy, prickly mouthfeel. Crumbly wet earth surrounds the fresh dewy peak of ripe raspberry and currant notes.
