Production Methods

Certified Organic

Wine made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard. Certified in the country of origin.

Tasting Notes

A luscious Syrah from the south of France that's made from older, 30 year old vines. The yields are low at harvest and all the fruit is hand-harvested and minimally sulphured. The resulting wine is nothing short of stunning with black fruit aromas, peppercorn alongside great structure. Partially aged in old casks before bottling.

Staff Pick Notes

In the southern French village of Mont Blanc a pair of brothers named Aymeric and Jordan Amiel are making some beautiful music indeed. Not literally, mind you, but the kind you can pour into a glass. This intense, but nuanced expression of Syrah sings of rich crushed blackberry and plum, pepper and spice, wild flowers, and a hint of smoked meat. The Amiel family has been making wine since the 1400's, so it's no surprise that the brothers inherited a talent. But what is noteworthy is their insistence on keeping their winemaking as natural and non-invasive as possible. Sadly, the Languedoc-Roussillon region in which their estate lies has become better known for large-scale production of average wines, so enjoy the exception to the rule. Food pairing? Break out the cassoulet!

Let it never be said, however, that Shiraz and Syrah are the same thing: the region in which the grape is grown determines much about the flavor of the wine it...
