Staff Pick Notes

Everyone gets into the rhythm of routine. But have you ever walked down a block on the opposite side of the street for a change and discovered something you've never seen? This wine is something like that experience. Cabernet Franc grows in and ever expanding list of wine regions. It isn't entirely exotic or novel as a single varietal. It is familiar. Keuka Lake Vineyards is a farm stead located on a charming slope lake side (Keuka Lake is the Y-shaped lake at the western edge of the Finger Lakes). Minimal intervention wine making in this cool climate showcases this Cabernet Franc in it's most delicate expression. A translucent garnet color in the glass. Intoxicating aromas of ripe cherries and medicinal herbs lead to lush red plums and a hint of chilies. Refreshing like a gust of fresh Spring air. Familiar and not familiar at once
