Tasting Notes

Sicily has a strong tradition of representing native grapes. This bottle is made from Nerello Mascalese and Nocero grapes. It comes from central Italy and from bushvines that lay atop of rocky soils that are co-planted with cereal and lentils as was a typical practice of yesteryear. Nerello Mascalese is typically associated with Mount Etna but in fact is not native in Etna. It thrives on the mainland and is pale in color as a wine but in this case the color is mildly amplified by the Nocera grape.
