Tasting Notes

The region of Lazio is home to the capital city of Rome and outside of Rome you'll find the winery, Castello di Torre which makes this formidable red wine made from a blend of local grapes. Fresh in style, bottled unoaked and has a healthy body and backbone that merits food pairings that are rich be it aged cheeses or rich meats.

Staff Pick Notes

I've tasted thousands of wines from Italy over the years. This is hands down one of the most versatile and balanced reds to ever come out of the Lazio region (the area outside of Rome). This medium-bodied red has the perfect combination of fruit and earth tones. It is warm, generous, rustic, and pure. The perfect everyday bottle, this is a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese along with the native Roman grape, Cesanese. This would be perfect alongside any red sauce pasta. The best would be to pair it with a bucatini all'amatriciana for a true taste of Rome.

Sangiovese has shown itself in recent years to be an excellent...
