A harmonious, rustic-styled blend of Cabernet, Syrah, and Grenache. Dark fruit, with tons of violets, leather, spice, and great acidity on the palate. Pairs very well with grilled sausages, stews, and meats. There is a bit of a spritz when the bottle is first opened, some may prefer to decant.

The primary flavors (dark bush fruit, violets, spices, a bit of game) and body of this wine are certainly hearty, but the accompanying acidity makes it versatile and light on its feet. Mourvèdre

Known as Mataro in California and Monastrell in Spain, Mourvèdre can produce bold, tannic, highly alcoholic red wines. They usually show no shortage of fruit as well, and the best examples keep it all in perfect balance. Rhône-style blends are cropping up all over the world, and one of the classic tried-and-true combinations is "GSM," or Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre. The "M" contributes focus and fleshy character to blends - but Mourvèdre also shines on its own as a varietal wine.
