Foillard is an incredible traditional producer making stunning wines, this village wine being no exception. He uses whole cluster fermentation in concrete tank. The fruit comes from parcels located in Villié-Morgon, Lancié, Saint-Amour, and St-Etienne-La-Varenne. Fresh and vibrant with a rustic edge.

Once upon a time, Beaujolais wine was primarily known for bubble gum juice that hit the shelves every November after September harvest. Then came Jules Chauvet, winemaker, chemist, negociant, and (most importantly) wine educator. His wine philosophy emphasized the old methods of winemaking prior to industrialization. His direct legacy was the Gang of Four, which included the maker of this wine, Jean Foillard. These guys followed Chauvet by adhering to organic farming and low-intervention winemaking. Winemakers since have kept the natural approach and Beaujolais has never been the same. You will admire the complexity of this entry village wine. It bears a velvety mouthfeel, and a generous nose of ripe red berries. Hints of earth, wool, and herbs garnish the palate. Swirl this with a morsel of young Manchego.
