Tasting Notes

Nero di Troia, a native rare grape from Puglia, is also known as Uva di Troia. The skin of the grape is especially thick meaning that the wine is also rich in the healthful polyphenols. This is a robust, full-bodied red wine that is unoaked.

Staff Pick Notes

Ready to stand on your head and look at robust wines a little differently? Nero di Troia is strange, heavy, and tasty vino. One pour doles out decadent aromas of vanilla syrup, cinnamon sugar, dark espresso, and brandy. The palate is equally concentrated showing flavors blueberry pie, figs, sweet molasses, and more vanilla. Sounds like the work of oak no? Strangely, this wine spends no time in oak barrels whatsoever. I know Nero di Troia sounds extreme. I know you’ve been hurt before by heavy wines. Try it anyway, and learn to love again.
