Wine made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard.
Tasting Notes
Mondeuse is the most well-known red grape variety in the Savoie region of eastern France. Mondeuse is naturally low in alcohol (10%) - anything much higher means the wine was chaptalized. Dry on the palate with lively dark-fruits and lithe tannins. The grapes were hand-harvested from steep-sloping vineyards demanding that all work be done by hand.

Staff Pick Notes
It's a rare and beautiful thing to find a red wine that registers at a cool 10% ABV—and this one is really delicious as well! This wine hails from the village of Chignin, near the alpine vermouth village of Chambéry in the Alps, sandwiched between Switzerland and Italy and is made from organically grown grapes on a calcareous-clay soil at 1,280 feet above sea level. The varietal, Mondeuse, is the most widely planted red grape in Savoie. Adrien Berlioz has implemented more biodynamic techniques since taking over the family estate more than ten years ago. With the vineyards in steep mountain slopes, everything is done by hand. On the palate the fruit is bright and fresh, the minerality chalky, and the finish light and dry. An all around delightful wine.
