Staff Pick Notes

I adore an off-dry wine, and particularly an off-dry German Riesling. This is where the true Riesling magic happens, despite the residual sugar-induced panic that steers many away from this most elegant and delicious of wines. When matched with lovely high acidity the sweetness is tamed, and the two play off one another on the tongue. This wine is immensely food-friendly, yet also incredibly refreshing all on its own. Eva Fricke's Wisperwind comes from old vines grown in poor soils, and is all hand-harvested. Give this Rheingaumaiden a try, and her golden juice will enchant you. It pairs well with a host of foods, from rich cheeses, to roast fowl, to many flavorful and highly spiced dishes.
