Tasting Notes
A stunning Cinsault made from 135 year old vines planted in sandy soil from the Bechtold Vineyard in Lodi. This wine is light on it's feet, showing fresh raspberry flavors and fine tannins on the finish. An excellent choice for the table.

Staff Pick Notes
When William Allen started Two Shepherds nearly a decade ago, his passion centered on Rhone varieties. What the world did not need was more California Cab and so he set about making wines from grapes like Grenache Blanc, Carignan and Cinsault. Using native yeasts and keeping a restrained hand in the winemaking he's crafting so truly exceptional wines.
This Cinsault is a rare treat. It comes from 135-year-old ungrafted vines from a sandy, phylloxera-free vineyard in Lodi. You'll find beautiful fresh red fruit, red raspberries, cherries with darker, savory fruit on the finish. It's light and bright but with a nice concentration making this a great addition to the holiday table.

Astor's Glossary of Terms
California makes more wine than any other state in the United States. Not only does the state grow a variety of noble grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, there are also plantings of lesser-known varieties such as Nebbiolo, Roussanne and Mourvèdre to name just a few.
