Cantina Margò Rosso - 2018

Item # 40188 750mL

Coming from Umbria and made from 100% Sangiovese, this wine shows a much different expression compared to a Sangiovese from Tuscany. Pretty violet aromas and plush, juicy red fruit with soft tannins. No additives are used during winemaking, no temperature control and no filtration. Only minimal sulfur is added.

Staff Pick Notes

The producer of this wine, Carlo Tabarrini, got five hectares of abandoned land and planted vines using biodynamic practices. He lets his grapes ferment quietly without much intervention. In the winery, no additives are used. The juice spends twenty five days in contact with the skin. It's a medium body wine with aromas of red fruit and spicy flavors. It has a bright acidity and leathery notes. You can notice the typical qualities of Sangiovese grape and it shows smoothness, delicacy and a pleasant finish .I would pair it with pasta with meat sauce or roasts. A wine with personality!

Responsible for the eponymous Sagrantino di Montefalco as well as being a component of Rosso di Montefalco, Sagrantino has the power and structure of the biggest wines in Italy, yet still shows opulent fruit redolent of mixed wild berries. The Rosso...
