Pétillant Naturel Rosé, l'Amour du Risque - 2022

Item # 40581 750mL

The Hubert family from Bordeaux has come out with their first Pétillant Naturel. A lightly sparkling, compelling rosé wine that's cloudy salmon in color with a complex profile. Made from 100% Cabernet Franc. Endlessly drinkable.

Staff Pick Notes

Risk Love. The love of taking risk. A name given to this wine by the son of the Peybonhomme family who loves to surf. A fun, juicy wine that will make you feel like summer will never end. The heat, the leaves, the petals falling like chips of paint. Grilled halves of papaya on the palate with notes of cantaloupe and yellow watermelon. Slightly, and when I say slightly I mean EVER SO (aka barely) off dry. But I do think it is my duty to tell you, you know, to keep you informed. Take a bottle home, grab some mortadella and sprawl out in the balmy breeze and read How to Behave in a Crowd by Camille Bordas who was born in Lyon, France which is about 300 miles from Bordeaux, but still, why not. Anyways, that's what I'll be doing tonight.

Cabernet Franc has remained close to its roots in France, enjoying small pockets of popularity primarily in the Loire Valley (specifically in Chinon), where it is often bottled as a varietal wine, and in Bordeaux where it is still used in moderate percentages in the typical blends. In fact,...
