Tasting Notes

An exquisite Chenin with depth and complexity from a single parcel of 100 year old vines. The richness and lusciousness of the fruit is a reflection of the warm vintage along with vibrant acidity and crunchy minerality. A striking wine that will make Chenin lovers swoon. No SO2 added. Marie Besnard is the name of the lieu-dit.

Staff Pick Notes

If you are looking for a rich, powerful Chenin Blanc that is full of flavor, please look no further. Domaine Mosse have gifted us a wine of great concentration, texture, and suberb length. The fruit comes from 100-year-old vine Chenin Blanc that struggle to still produce a minuscule amount of fantastic berries. This is a very natural wine, exquisitely crafted. Marie Besnard was a notorious accused serial killer in mid-20th Century France whose husbands always seemed to meet a tragic fate. She may have been slipping them a fatal dose of arsenic, but the kind winemakers at Mosse do not even add sulphites at bottling! A wine to savor over a few nights of reading Shirley Jackson's We Have Always Lived in the Castle. So good it's almost haunting.
