Grechetto is one of my go-to everyday white wine varietals for great value. If you enjoy the minerality, acidity, stone fruit, citrus, and vegetal notes of Sauvignon Blanc, give Grechetto a try. What you’ll find from this Umbrian varietal is something similarly crisp and easy drinking but perhaps a bit more mellow. Exceptionally balanced and smooth with a long bitter almond and saline finish. Light-medium bodied. White flowers and a hint of straw on the nose precede a core of pear and green apple on the palate, complemented by bright citrus and a balanced acidity. It works well with vegetarian dishes and lean fish.
