In the foothills off of the Atlantic Coast are the Arinto vineyards in the Óbidos sub-region of Lisbon. This is a dry, aromatic white wine that is unoaked yet fuller in body and rich in texture. The soils are a mix of limestone and clay giving both mineral and fruitiness to the wine.

A white grape variety grown in Portugal, known for producing wines with lots of juicy citrus acidity. When a component of Vinho Verde, it is called Pedernã.
