Nero d'Avola "Sensale", Sibiliana - 2021

Item # 41671 750mL

Sicily remains one of the most exciting regions in Italy and thanks to Nero d'Avola which, when in the right hands, can be a spectacular wine. This is the case with this bottle from the Sibiliana winery which is located in the west. The fruit is pure, unadulterated and unoaked. A pleasurable wine to drink in its youth.

Staff Pick Notes

Don’t threaten me with a good time, especially at this price point. I don't know how you like to spend your evenings, but if relaxing with a solid, but easygoing bottle that doesn’t break the bank (made with organically grown fruit to boot) sounds appealing, then stop right here and take this bottle home. Like now. Tart, dark cherry and slight suggestions of herbs greet your senses, along with soft, chalky tannins that broaden across the palate. This medium weight wine will happily withstand a few minutes in your fridge to bring down the serving temperature. I’ve had pairing success with both sausage + broccoli rabe pizza and chicken thighs with sautéed mushrooms + orange bell peppers. Enjoy your evening and you’re welcome.
