Staff Pick Notes

The Colchagua Valley is iconic when it comes to wine making in Chile. Located just south of Santiago with the Pacific Ocean to the west, the high elevation - 3,000 feet above sea level - and long, dry summers are ideal for growing grapes that create balanced & surprisingly delicious wines. Luis Felipe Edwards has been working in Chilean vineyards since 1976, with his deft and experience clearly showing in this wine. Smoky on the nose, but light on the palate (especially for this grape!) there are flavors of both red and black fruits, but none of the bell peppery notes that often accompany cabernet sauvignon. If you've pigeon holed Chilean wines into a simple, value oriented category then taste again, and again, and again! This wine is no joke.
