The proximity of the sea protects the vineyard from excessive drought, while the neighboring mountains (which reach a height of more than 2500 meters) generate cool air at night that refreshes this elegant, lithe red wine made from Sciaccarellu. Unoaked.

This easy-to-drink grape varietal from the eastern coast of Corsica is rather rare. The winds from the ocean and the coastal mountain range called “La Castagniccia” assist in the creation of this very well-balanced wine. You can taste red fruit, flowery notes, and minerality. At Clos Fornelli, they produce low intervention, organic wine. The soil is deep, providing good water supply necessary during the dry summer. It's a great microclimate that fosters healthy, ripe grapes. The result is a concentrated medium-bodied wine that in my opinion would pair well with white meat and, in general, Mediterranean cuisine. Very pleasant!
