Tasting Notes

Schioppettino is a grape variety that traces its history in Friuli back to the 13th century, when schioppettino represented about 75% of all plantings. Since that time the variety nearly vanished until brought back by 1970s advocates in the commune of Prepotto, where it exists almost exclusively today. Aged in oak barriques (10% new) for 2 years before bottling.
