Staff Pick Notes

Jurançon is one of my unsung loves in the French wine world. You probably haven't even heard of the region, let alone tasted their one of their beautiful wines. Only about 5 square miles are dedicated to viticulture here, and most are owned by co-ops and miniscule producers. Legally all grapes must be harvested by hand, and the vines grow mostly on steep slopes. Clos Guirouilh lovingly crafts this blend of Gros Manseng and Petit Corbu much like their ancestors have since the 16th Century. They haven't missed a vintage since, even during both world wars! This full-bodied classic is bursting with flavors and aromas. Citrus, orchard and stone fruits, dried ginger, and spice pair with a beautiful acidity. This is exceedingly food-friendly.
