Soave Classico, "Vigneti di Foscarino", Inama - 2021

Item # 44690 750mL

A traditionally made Soave, sourced from Garganega vines more than 40 years old. Introduced to the area by the Romans, these pergola-trained vines are planted on the volcanic soils of Monte Foscarino. Fermented in used barriques, with about 12 hours on the skins, and batonnage is used to give more texture to the finished wine. An intense yellow color, with a fuller-body, this is a rich and beautifully textured wine. Aromas of stone fruits, almonds, and white flowers pair nicely with cod with polenta, and sushi.

Staff Pick Notes

An interesting wine from north Italy, from the not so known grape Garganega. The vineyards face east: this factor help the berries to catch the morning sun avoiding the afternoon heat; as a result minerality and freshness are retained On the nose you can enjoy flowery notes such as camomile and stone fruit. On the palate, flavors of white pepper and almond are noticeable. The region is still recovering from a bad reputation in making diluted weak wines. Winemakers are now working hard to create high quality wines still at an approachable price. The Inama family wines are a great example of this improving process This wine is crisp and rich, to be paired with fried fish or seafood in general.
