Sanford & Benedict is one of the oldest and most iconic vineyards in Souther California, and Chardonnay was planted here in 1971. From shale, loam, and clay soils, Arnot-Roberts craft Old World-style wines with a California twist. Fermented in stainless steel, it undergoes malolactic and aged for 1 year in neutral oak. Pair this dry white with fish pibil.
California makes more wine than any other state in the United States. Not only does the state grow a variety of noble grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, there are also plantings of lesser-known varieties such as Nebbiolo, Roussanne and Mourvèdre to name just a few.
