Staff Pick Notes

The two producers of this excellent wine created their vineyard in 1998. It's now a very established and recognized estate in Greece. Protected by the Pangeon Mountain range and close to a body of water, this is an excellent location for vine growing. The area was also known as a great wine region in ancient Greece. Both producers studied in Bordeaux and brought back their experience to Northern Greece. And, drinking this wine you can notice their love for the Bordeaux blend style, with the difference of the addition of the Agiorgitiko grape: black fruit, chocolate, cedar and spice supported by smooth tannins. A red meat perfect companion!

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...

Agiorgitiko

Pronounced "ah yor YEE ti ko", this is one of the most prolific red varieties of Greece. This hard-to-pronounce grape is often called “St. George” for international marketing purposes, and makes some beautiful, easy-drinking, light to medium-bodied wines. If you’re a fan of fruit-driven reds like Pinot Noir or Gamay, this is a good grape to try out.
