Arguably the most sought after of all the great releases from this Brooklyn outfit, the Single Batch Series features one-off projects with often improbable beginnings that typically take years to form. For FOUR, the Forthave team started with an eau de vie of genepi flowers, that over four years of building took on additional floral eau de vies from lavender, cherry blossoms, elderflowers, chamomile, rose petals and more, many of them local. Finally extracted bitter gentian root, grape must and a touch of raw cane sugar for balance were blended in. Bottled at a healthy 30% abv. Perfect topped with sparkling wines, soda water and a simple twist, a white negroni and more... Limited.

The fourth of Forthave's Single Batch releases and by far my favorite yet. With 4 years of blending a variety of eau de vies over the top of the Genepi eau de vie base the complexity of this spirit is off the chart, but still brings characters reminiscent of many other bitter liqueurs. Candied orange meets the palate followed by notes of genepi, cherry blossom, and elderflower, finishing with the balanced bitterness imparted with the addition of gentian root to bring it all home. If you want a step up from Suze for your next White Negroni you will not find a better option than this so grab it while you can because once it's gone it won't be making a return!
