I recently tasted this wine and it brought back a real sense of nostalgia for me - of a time when I knew way less about the intricacies of wine, but drank a lot of them that tasted like this. It was both a really great feeling and an enjoyable glass to consume and ponder. Stag's Leap is firmly in the 'classic' California style of chardonnay that may be easy to stylistically eschew these days, but I feel pretty strongly that every wine has a proper place and pairing. This may not be what I want to drink all the time anymore, but who doesn't love a good throw back now and then? Yes, maybe this is your mother in law's chardonnay, but it might create a solid bonding experience to share a glass with her & that's something we could all use these days, isn't it?
