Tasting Notes

The Glendronach is a distillery that prides itself on its old school character and the team there proudly continue to make whisky in as close a manner to the original runs in the 1820s as possible, with few modern improvements. The result is a range of whiskies that are defiantly delicious. The "Original" 12yr was matured in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks before bottling at 43% ABV. All of the great hallmarks of the brand are here in spades with notes that include ripe pears, autumn spices, dried apricots, hay, almond butter and sweet toffee carried wonderfully on the rich palate and dry finish.
