Bushmills 16 Yr. Irish Whiskey

Bushmills 16 Year is a gorgeous whiskey from start to finish. The 16 Year is famous for it's use of three separate barrels. First, two sets of malt whiskey are aged separately, one in old bourbon barrels and one in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. They are then combined and finished in port wine barrels. Technicalities aside, what I love most about this whiskey is its ability to retain all of the elegance and restraint of a beautiful Irish Whiskey. The nose reveals almonds, toasted nuts, honey, and toffee. On the palate, roasted nuts, peaches in syrup, and holiday spices prevail.
