I must admit that, although being a wine guy, I do love to occasionally mix a cocktail after work. My latest endeavors have been whiskey based concoctions as the Manhattan and Boulevardier. So far my best drinks have been made with Sazerac Rye. The slick texture, spicy notes, and fruity flavors makes it so harmonious with vermouth and bitter aperitivos. It is also extremely flexible for times when you want to vary the proportions of ingredients. It's made in the historic Buffalo Trace distillery.
